I apologize for not being very active the past month or so. Many of you know I just got married a couple of weeks ago, so life was kind of hectic for a while, but married life is settling down nicely for Amanda and I now.

Back in November I had the pleasure of capturing the wedding of one of my friends from my hometown, Guthrie Alexander, and his lovely wife Brittney. They both graduated from The University of Texas and live in Austin – you might have seen their awesome house when they were on HGTV’s “Property Virgins” a while back. Their wedding was exciting for me for many reasons. From a personal standpoint, the amount of love present during their celebration was inspiring, and the sense of family shared by everyone in attendance was simply incredible. From a technical standpoint, shooting the wedding was challenging because I was out of my element – the sun sets about 5:00 in Texas in November, so I had no daylight to work with and had to improvise a little bit. The pace of the evening was also quite a bit quicker than what I am used to, so I had to stay on my toes and kind of make things up on the fly, but I feel like I was able to get some good images because of that. Anyway, enough talking and on to the reason you are here!

I love the details on her dress!

Things are always a little crazy in the girls’ room when hair and makeup is happening, but Brittney was joyful the entire day!

Guthrie gave Brittney a purse full of handwritten notes. When Brittney first opened it up, she thought it was just trash, but after I suggested she take a closer look, she was on the verge of tears. That’s not a good thing when you’ve just had your makeup done!

Brittney gave Guthrie a new watch, and once he got cleaned up the man of the evening was looking pretty sharp!

I rode with the bridal party and the groom over to the ceremony. I knew as we were getting in the limo that a good time was in store for the rest of the evening. I love the shot of Guthrie in the limo!

After the ceremony I hopped in the limo with the bride and groom on the way back to the hotel for the reception.

I love this shot of them coming up the escalator to the ballroom.

In case you can’t tell, Guthrie is a big fan of Chipotle. That giant burrito on his cake was full of Italian creme!

Such a sweet couple!

Guthrie’s mom was pretty emotional during their dance, and this was such a sweet moment.

After the reception formalities I managed to steal away the bridal party to take some shots out in the lobby. The girls were having a good time!
