A couple of weeks ago now, I shot Amberly and Carson’s engagement photos down at White Rock Lake. I’ve never shot down there, but I ride my bike around there fairly often, and I’ve seen a few different areas I thought might make for some good photos. I didn’t realize that it would take a lot longer than I thought to walk to all of them, though. Amberly and Carson were both troopers though and we hoofed it all around the lake for the sake of getting some sweet shots, and I think it was worth the effort. They were a ton of fun to shoot and so natural in front of the camera, it really made my job pretty easy! I hope you enjoy the images!

Last weekend I shot some engagement photos for Kimberly and Harrison, who are getting married in just a few more weeks! I’m really excited to get to shoot their wedding, and I know it will be such a beautiful day! I actually shot Kim’s bridals earlier today, so stay tuned for a preview image from that session, and of course the rest of the images will be put up after the wedding. I hope you guys love your engagement photos, and I can’t wait for the wedding!

A few weeks ago I got to check out a new location up near McKinney to shoot some engagement photos for Lauren and Travis. Lauren and my fiancé Amanda are friends from church, and she actually works for the same company I do. She and Travis are both Aggies as well, so naturally they are wonderful people! Although they were a little concerned with how they did on the shoot, they were a ton of fun and I think they did a great job! Having Amanda and our friend Katie along for comedic relief definitely helped, too! After the experience of shooting them for their engagements, I’m really excited to get to shoot their wedding in June, because I know it will be a blast! I hope you guys enjoy the images!

I’m Engaged!

July 5, 2009

So, I actually got engaged over a month ago, on May 30th, but I haven’t posted anything on here yet. Part of the reason is because I don’t really have any proper photos of me and my beautiful fiancé, and part of the reason is I have just been too busy to do it. Since we are fortunate enough to have the amazingly talented Michael Norwood shooting our wedding, we are going to hold off on doing engagement photos until we’re able to do bridals at the same time, to save him a trip, but we wanted to do photos for our save the dates, which put us in a bit of a predicament. I recently saw some amazing shots that Nate and Jaclyn Kaiser did using a tripod and a timer, so I decided to give it a go and set up the shots and run around and get in them before the shutter went off. I think it worked out fairly well. Here are a handful of the images Amanda allowed me to post (partly kidding). There are some really good ones that will be going in the personal file, as well as the one we chose for our save the date cards (not shown here). Enjoy!

Dani & Garrett

June 23, 2009

About a month ago now, I had an absolute blast shooting engagement portraits for my friend and co-worker Garrett and his lovely fiancé Dani. I have been crazy busy with work and life (more on that in a later blog post, I promise!) so it has taken me a while to get these finished up. I apologize for that, and hope it was worth the wait. Dani, it was a pleasure getting to know you over the course of a couple of hours of shutter snapping, and I cannot wait to shoot your wedding in another month! I hope you guys enjoy your images, and thanks so much for letting me shoot you!

Kim & Jack

May 9, 2009

Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking a few shots of my friends Jack and Kim for their engagement and upcoming wedding. With the crazy weather we’ve been having around here lately, I had kept a close eye on the forecast for the weekend, and before I left Dallas the weather was supposed to be sunny and clear the rest of the evening. About 15 minutes into the shoot, the sun went behind a cloud and I thought, “well, let’s just wait a minute until the sun comes back out…” and then I looked and saw the biggest wall cloud ever taking over the entire sky, swallowing the sun, never to be seen again. Sweet. So, we continued to shoot and tried to get as much in as we could before the heavens inevitably opened up and soaked us. I was a little unsure about how the images would turn out due to the lack of sun, but I think I still got some pretty good shots considering we were under a tornado watch and it was starting to lightning all around us. At least it cooled off a bit, since it was in the 90s when we started shooting. Kim and Jack, thanks for letting me take you guys out and take photos of you guys for a couple of hours! I hope you enjoy your images and I can’t wait for your wedding! I hope we got the bad weather out of the way on the engagement shoot!

Shauna & Alex

March 16, 2009

This Sunday, after half a week of nasty Texas springtime weather, I had the joy of going with one of my life long friends to take some engagement shots of another friend of ours and her fiance, Alex. The sunlight was a little iffy at first, but towards sunset the sky cleared and we got some really good light. It was my first time taking any photos like these, and I have mixed feelings about the results. Sort of one of those “I imagined it differently in my head” kind of things. I tried to do a little flare and it didn’t really turn out like I wanted. Practice makes perfect, they say. Anyway, all things considered, I am happy with how they turned out.

Shauna and Alex, you did a wonderful job putting up with us making you do silly things in front of all kinds of people, walk all over the West End in heels (well, not Alex), freeze to death once the sun started to go down, and get muddy and wet in that field I found…but hey, you guys looked good! I am so glad you gave me the opportunity to tag along and put a camera in your faces for a few hours. Thank you guys so much! I hope you enjoy your photos!
