The Slomans

July 26, 2009

This past Friday I had the pleasure of traveling up to Rochester, Minnesota to shoot the wedding of my friend and coworker Garrett and his wonderful new wife, Dani. The trip was a blast, the weather was gorgeous, and both families were absolutely incredible and full of love for one another. It was truly moving to see them join together, and I am so thankful that they allowed me to be a part of it. Congratulations you guys, I wish you the very best!

Great post my friend! Processing was infinitely better. Wish you would have shot with me on Sat. I could have used a few good shots from my second :)

Awesome wedding. I love the colors!

How do you like that 35mm 2.0? I’m debating on that or the 1.4.

Thanks Allen! The 35 2.0 is alright. Honestly, for the money, I would go ahead and pony up for the 35 1.4. The image quality isn’t bad, but the build quality isn’t too much better than the 50 1.8 – mostly plastic, no USM, and not a lot of glass. For ~$400 for the 2.0, I’d go ahead and spend the extra $800 for the 1.4.

Dani said these were up. They are beautiful Taylor! You did a fantastic job capturing these moments. Looking forward to seeing more someday.
